 My route into early years education and becoming Pre-School manager is not the most conventional.

In 1996 I graduated from Liverpool, John Moores University with a BSc Hons Degree in Microbiology.  The following year I qualified as a secondary school science teacher.  I then went to work as a Microbiologist and Environmental Control Officer for Astrazeneca Pharmaceuticals for 9 years.

I took voluntary redundancy in 2007 to spend more time with my then young sons.  This is where I found my passion for early years. I returned to education first as a Teaching assistant, then as a supply Teacher.  I have now worked in a Pre-School settings for 5 years as a Deputy Manager and as of January 2019 the Manager. 

I love the energy and the enthusiasm that the children bring. I love watching them grow in self confidence as they learn new skills and realise, I can do that.

I love the stories they tell and their view on the world.  At Goostrey Pre-School I want to create a place where each child can shine, they can develop as individuals and at the end of their journey with us we know we have helped give them the skills and confidence for their next adventure.
